We know you have many choices when choosing a Dentist in Coventry, RI so we have made requesting an appointment a simple process via our Web site. If, for any reason you cannot keep a scheduled appointment, or will be delayed, please call us as soon as possible. We accept most traditional insurance plans, contact our office to verify acceptance of your plan. Coventry Family Dental, LLC does not participate in Health Management Organizations; however, we will be happy to file your insurance claims for you. We accept checks, cash or credit cards. Please see our Financial Coordinator for details. We are happy to file insurance for your reimbursement as long as you are free to choose your own dentist.

Dr. Dmitry Gelfand DDS

My name is Dmitry Zhukov Gelfand. I spent the first eighteen years of my life in the Ukrainian port city of Odessa, on the shore of the Black Sea. Odessa was and still in some ways remains a multi-ethnic theater of various European and Asian cultures that have left their deep traces in the city’s architecture, cuisine, literature, architecture, visual arts and the general outlook on life of the Odessites.

When I was eighteen, my family immigrated to the United States, and for over fifteen years I called New York City my home. I went to Brooklyn College and in 1997 graduated from the New York University College of Dentistry. In 2004 I purchased the long-established Coventry dental practice of Dr.Peter McLinn, who retired. 2024 marks twenty years since I became part of the greater Coventry community. Moving to an unknown area with a young family was a big step, but we never looked back, and Rhode Island is our one true home. We are now a family of four: my wife, Dr. Marija Zhukov is an anesthesiologist; our daughter Liza is graduating from Maine Maritime Academy in 2025, and our son George is a high school junior. Over the years we have adopted several cats from the Rhode Island SPCA and currently share our home with two sly thieves, Afonya and Bambina. I welcome you to our practice!

Hello, my name is Misty. I have been working in dental as a Dental Assistant/Dental Receptionist since 2013. I started working for Dr.Gelfand in 2018 as his assistant/patient coordinator. When I am not at work, I am spending time with my family or doing photography.

Business Manager

Hi, my name is Mandy and I’ve been a patient care coordinator since 2023. I am usually the first smiling face you will see when you visit. If I'm not at the office, you will either find me wandering the aisles of Michaels looking for a new project or spending time with my family.

Registered Dental Hygienist

Hi, I’m Mikayla! I graduated from the dental hygiene program at CCRI in 2016 and have worked at Coventry Family Dental for the last three years. When I’m not working, I enjoy traveling, spending time with my family, and tending to my farm animals.

Registered Dental Hygienist

Hello, my name is Ana. I am an alumna of CCRI. I have been working as Dental Hygienist since 2010. I am excited to join this wonderful team at Coventry Family Dental. In my spare time,(which I have an abundance of, since my adult child moved away) I love reading with a fine vintage merlot within reach. At every chance I get, I escape RI on long weekend get aways. I enjoy history, classical music (yes! This includes opera) and antiques.

I went to Lincoln Tech school to become a Dental Assistant. I was hired during my internship. Looking forward to growing and learning more about this career, and helping serve the community. In my free time I enjoy spending time with family, specifically when I am back home- Cabo Verde. . . . .

I’m currently taking a gap year to work alongside Dr. G with the goal of attending dental school and becoming a dentist. You’ll always see me around the office with a smile on my face! I love country music, singing, and most importantly, spending time with my family!

Hi! I’m Bailey, I’m one of Dr. Gelfands assistants. I went to school at Lincoln Tech to become a dental assistant, and since finishing school I’ve been working here getting to know our patients! In my free time I’m chasing my toddler around and enjoying a coffee or 3!
