COVENTRY FAMILY DENTAL
In 2026, Dr. Simon Pun, DDS became the new owner of Coventry Family Dental, continuing a tradition of providing quality dental care to Rhode Islanders for more than 50 years.
Our story began in the early 1970s, when Dr. Peter McLinn opened his dental practice in an old farmhouse at 295 South Main Street in Coventry. Dr. McLinn retired in 2004, and Dr. Dmitry Gelfand acquired the practice and renamed it Coventry Family Dental. In 2007, we moved to our current location at 903 Tiogue Avenue, where we have continued caring for generations of patients.
Technology and science have made incredible advances in nearly every aspect of our lives—and dentistry is no exception. We are committed to keeping up with the latest innovations in dental technology, clinical care, and patient service so we can provide the best experience possible.

What we know today about the importance of having a nice, clean mouth, healthy teeth and gums [or what we call periodontium], is remarkably important to our overall health. Your mouth is the ultimate pathway to the rest of your body. Maintaining strong teeth and all the supporting structures that help us chew food, speak, breathe, and feel good about our smiles is indicative of our overall health. We urge everyone to have regular dental visits. If you have not been to your dentist in more than six months, the time to call and make that appointment is now!
